Race Course

Race Info

Come join us on the beautiful DCR Charles River Esplanade for a fun 5K (3.1 mile) run/walk! There will be balloons, PRIZES, MUSIC, FOOD, AND MORE FUN! All proceeds go to the PLGA Foundation, d.b.a. A Kid’s Brain Tumor Cure. Brain tumors are the leading cause of cancer death in children. The Pediatric Low Grade Astrocytoma Foundation is the largest, and only non-profit organization dedicated to providing hope to children, parents, and families fighting PLGAs.

Who We Are

A non-profit organiztion with a dedicated student group at Boston University. We host an annual 5K on the DCR Charles River in Boston that donates all proceeds to The PLGA Foundation (d.b.a A Kids' Brain Tumor Cure). Pediatric Low Grade Astrocytomas (PLGAs) are the most common form of childhood brain tumors, but are still considerably underfunded & overlooked in research

What We Do

We raise funds and awareness to combat orphan diseases through community fundraisers and events while providing support to affected families, culminating in an annual 5 kilometer walk/run. *Orphan diseases are rare and often life-threatening diseases that typically do not have effective treatment options. The biggest obstacle to research studies for cures is the lack of funding.
